A taste of Barcelona, a heart in Bangkok

Our Story

A portal to the Iberian Peninsula — the “Mirage” of Spain, mirrored on a hidden rooftop above Sukhumvit 23.

A Mirage of Spain

Latirra begins as a mirage. Its founding idea — the Mirage — is a reflection of the diverse Iberian landscapes, from the Pyrenees to the deserts, mirrored in the heart of Bangkok. Glazed glass walls catch the changing sky and the city beyond, and as daylight softens into evening the room becomes the enchanting illusion of dining amidst the Iberian Peninsula.

The materials carry the same story. A cobblestone-inspired floor and terracotta-and-grey tiles root the room in old-world Spain; onyx creamy-wave marble wraps the chef's-table counter; brass, textured wood and black tinted mirror catch the light; and an antique metal portal marks the threshold. Conceived by Leka Studio, every surface is chosen to hold the warmth of a Catalan table — eight floors above Sukhumvit 23.

“Every dish I make is a small celebration of this city, its vibrant culture and the journey that brought me here.”
— Chef Sandro Aguilera

The Chef · Sandro Aguilera

Latirra is led by Sandro Aguilera, born in Barcelona and raised on the flavours of Catalonia. His feel for provenance was formed early, working in a rural farm hotel high in the Catalan Pyrenees, and later refined at the acclaimed restaurant Terra. At Latirra he wanted something more casual, more personal and more open — an à-la-carte xarcuteria, an unhurried bistro lunch, and the five-course “Memories” tasting, prepared tableside.

Three ideas are always with him as he cooks: family, for connection; the sea, for simplicity; and the land, for seasonality. He lets nature decide the components, so every visit keeps an element of surprise — the dish he says best captures Latirra is his All i Pebre, Galician octopus, simple on the surface and quietly sophisticated beneath.

This is luxury kept quiet: intention, coherence, a handful of impeccable ingredients, precise freshness and provenance — never rarity, never spectacle. Dishes may appear simple, but within lies a quiet sophistication.

“A truly memorable meal is about connection and presence. People remember the moment, the warmth, and the story — then they come back.”
— Chef Sandro Aguilera

Recognised by ICEX’s “Foods & Wines from Spain,” Latirra is a taste of Barcelona with a heart in Bangkok.
